Have your say

I read with interest your article on the former Rose and Castle public house on Trent Road in last week’s Journal.

May I suggest it would make an excellent open prison for young offenders.

Its position in town would act as a visible warning to young people. It is close to the police station and to the courts. The Meres could offer recreational facilities and it would be convenient for families to visit and would not create the isolation in the minds of young people that leads to tragic consequences.
