HGVs ARE using Harrowby Lane

I AM not very happy about the letter in last week’s Journal from Angry Belton Lane Resident, stating that HGV lorries, large and small, do not use Harrowby Lane or New Beacon Road.

At the traffic lights at the junction of New Beacon Road and Sandon Road, you just do not know when an HGV lorry will come around the corner as it is a very, very narrow corner for these lorries to contend with.

I ask the writer to come and see for themselves the HGVs using Harrowby Lane, New Beacon Road and the corner of Sandon Road, before anyone is seriously injured or killed here or at the crossing near the Co-op on Harrowby Lane.
