IT brought back happy memories seeing Roy Dolby’s picture in last weeks Journal, he used to dress up as Al Jolson and when he sang ‘Climb up on my knee, Sonny boy’, my young brother Victor used to sit on his knee while he sang.
He used to sing at Neals Social Club in the 50s, which is where Autumn Park is now.
And I also met my husband there in 1954 and married in 1956, we had a lot of good times there.
Roy used to love getting up on the stage to sing and I’m pleased he is still enjoying it.
