I WOULD like to personally thank all the parents, carers, teachers and pupils who took part in the Red Carpet Day in February, to raise money for our local St Barnabas Hospice in Grantham. This was where children came into their schools or nurseries dressed as a famous person or character and made a donation for doing so.
The total amount raised was £2,768.12 and this amount will be matched funded by the Yorkshire Bank, which means that £4,152.18 will go to St Barnabas Hospice here in Grantham, and £1,384.06 will go to the national Help the Hospice fund.
I would also like to say thank you to all those who attended the Quiz Night on Friday, March 16, where we raised a further £530 for the hospice. Again, this will be match funded, meaning £795 for the local hospice and £265 to the Help the Hospice fund.
Special thanks to Ramada Hotel for allowing us to use their function room; Dominic Brister, for his time, sound equipment and singing; Keith Noble for his questions; and Belvoir Castle, Grantham Beauty Clinic, UK Hair and Beauty, McDonald’s, Morrisons, Willbond, Soap and Glory and Magical Moments, for their kind raffle prize donations.
I will continue on my quest to raise money for this local cause and thank you in advance for your continued and valued support - it really does mean a lot.
