Paul Townley raced to joint top of the EMRA championship after first and fourth places at Mallory Park in the open class (up to 1,300cc).
The Croxton rider, on a Suzuki GSXR 1000 K5, qualified third on the grid in wind and heavy rain.

Paul was fourth in his first race, but fared much better in the afternoon leading the field by eight seconds at the flag.

Paul said: "The whole day was about changing from slicks to wets as the weather was so changeable. In my second race it was full wet conditions amd I was better prepared and led from start to finish. This performance is my best result and time in wet conditions, having only ever won in the dry before."

Paul's next race is at Mallory on August 31, with two rounds left of the championship.
