FENLAND seniors fielded two teams in the annual Skegness Centrepiece netball tournament on Sunday.
Fenland Blue and Fenland Flyers, sporting new kit sponsored by Grantham Specsavers, Grantham Orthopaedic Clinic and Playdeck Sports Surfaces, were among 36 teams from all over Lincolnshire.

Blues lost 7-5 to to eventual overall runners-up and regional squad Lincoln Imps after they had brought the match to 5-5 with accurate shooting from Trish Clegg.

Imps scored from the next centre and Fenland shot from the last but the ball rebounded and was picked up by the defence and converted in the last few seconds.

The 12 goals were scored in just seven minutes.

Fenland won all their other matches to top the group.

Flyers had mixed results, including a draw against eventual overall winners Jets, only conceding one match to Lincoln City. They finished
as group runners-up.

Fenland hosted a High Five Tournament for under-11s at Central
Technology and Sports College on Saturday.

Eight teams from around the county entered, including Fenland Sky Blues and Fenland Navy, who both played seven matches.

Navy scored 59, conceded 17; Sky scored 19, conceded 39.
