SKY Sports presenter Clare Tomlinson officially opened the new sports pavilion at Lowfields in Barrowby on Wednesday.
The Grantham-born presenter met local sportsmen and women and dignitaries. The former KGGS girl unveiled a plaque in the building.

The pavilion has four new changing rooms, a function room, kitchen and facilities for officials and spectators which replace the previous timber changing block.

It was built with the help of a £288,552 grant from the Football Foundation, Barrowby Parish Council, Barrowby FC and Barrowby Allsports provided additional funding.

Barrowby FC chairman Richard Cross said: "The increased capacity at the new sports site will enable more local people to enjoy access to regular sports. It also boasts improved parking and community facilities.

"The previous changing facilities consisted of a dilapidated timber building containing two changing rooms and a toilet and an old chicken
hut which had no power or water and was used for storage."

Barrowby Parish Council chairman Pam Bosworth said: "This new pavilion is a massive step forward for the sports teams that use the Lowfields and the new facility will be used by local people throughout the year."
