Grantham Running Club’s Matthew Kingston-Lee bettered his own club half-marathon record when he finished eighth from a field of 1,000 in the Keyworth Turkey Trot last Sunday.
He knocked 11 seconds off the previous record to finish in 1hr 17min 1sec, albeit short of his own personal best 1.16.46.
Clubmates Ben Hatherley and Kevin Baker set impressive personal bests on the tough, hilly course. In only his second attempt at the 13.1-mile distance, Rob Howbrook ran well to finish just over a minute slower than his previous attempt.

l Two GRC members took part in the Bedford Half-marathon which attracted a high quality field of 2,000 runners from all over the country.
Despite another hilly course, Catherine Payne (1.40.08) and Robert McArdle (1.43.58) both recorded good times.
