Three members of Grantham Running Club took part in the Ponton Plod event.

Runners had a choice of a 12, 17 or 27 mile trail running course. The 27 mile route visited Stoke Rochford, Skillington, Buckminster, Saltby, Croxton Kerrial, Denton, Harlaxton and Wyville before returning to the finish at Great Ponton village hall.

Lorna Fox completed the 12 mile route in 2hr 27min. Sarah High decided to test herself over the 17 mile distance, completing the event in 2.52 minutes and Paul Rushworth completed the 27 mile distance in 4.49.

l Matthew Kingston-Lee celebrated his 50th half marathon in style with a new personal best and a seventh place finish at the 25th Grunty Fen Half Marathon on Sunday.

His time of 1.14.46 bettered his old best of 1.15.29 set at last year’s Robin Hood Half Marathon. It sets a new GRC record and will be his final race before he embraces the dubious honour of becoming a veteran runner.

l GRC’s Rick Dobbs made his debut in the East Coast Classic 10km at Mablethorpe and, despite it being twice as long as he had run before, he completed the course in a time of 51.45.

He was joined on the start line by team-mates Chris Armstrong (41.24) and Robert McArdle (47.57).

l GRC’s Gav Meadows competed in the Ashbourne Half Marathon on Sunday.

It was a hilly course with a total accumulated climb of more than 1,000ft. Gav recorded a time of 1.37.34, finishing 30th in a field of 160.

Gav is running the Robin Hood Marathon next Sunday in aid of Dementia UK. You can sponsor him at uk.virginmoneygiving.com/gavsmarathon

l Grantham Athletic Club’s Naomi Collier has come off the back of her track season in fine form with a ladies’ first place in the Cannon Hill (Birmingham) parkrun. Overall she finished an impressive 13th place out of the large field of 414 runners and lowered her PB by three seconds in the process.

At the Lincoln event, Dona Hall lowered her PB yet again and it was back to school and back to parkrunning for Matthew Dunstan (U11) with a fine performance at the Melton event.

Parkrun results. Cannon Hill – 13 Naomi Collier 18.39; Lincoln – 70 Richard Hall 25.01, 161 Dona Hall 33.21; Newark – 19 Keith Measures 23.54, 82 Matthew Dunstan 31.12; Keswick – 22 Paul Davidson 22.34.
