Grantham AC athletes performed well in the final events of the track and field season.
Representing Lincolnshire in the under-13/under-15 Inter-County match at Derby, Lewis Davey produced three personal best performances in winning the under-13 boys’ high jump (1.60m), long jump (4.84m) and 75m hurdles (13.0sec).
His high jump placed him joint first in the UK rankings, and his high jump and hurdles results were also club records.
James Hall recorded 12.6sec and 25.8sec respectively in the under-15 boys’ 100m and 200m.
GAC under-15 girls’ results were: 75m hurdles – Hannah Payne 13.8sec; long jump – Hannah Payne 4.33m; javelin – Ruth Payne 17.84m, Amy Newell 10.58m.
l Lewis Davey finished fifth overall in the East of England Combined Events Championships triathlon at Peterborough with 68 points – a club record.
Results: 800m – 2m 22.36sec cr, high jump – 1.50m, discus – 13.51m.
l Under-17 Joshua Brown finished eighth out of 46 competitors at the English Schools Combined Events Final at Birmingham.
Scoring 4,795 points in the octathlon, he achieved PBs in 100 hurldes and high jump.
Results: long jump – 5.72m, discus – 31.61m, javelin – 44.90m, 400m – 52.58sec, 100m hurdles – 13.9sec, high jump – 1.85m, 1500m – 4min 59.70sec.
