Belvoir Triathlon Club’s Glynn Attiwell finished strongly in the Evil Sheriff Duathlon at Sherwood Pines, near Clipstone, Notts.
Glynn finished 12th in his age group and 33rd overall out of more than 300 competitors in the off-road challenge. He completed the 5km run in 20min 17sec, the 16km bike stage in 48.02 and the second 3.6km run in 15.14, for a total time of 1.25.07 including transitions.
He is hoping to make some major progress in the coming season as he is preparing for a 70.3 Ironman (Half-Ironman triathlon) in early July. Other enthusiastic Belvoir members are also aiming towards the new season and taking advantage of the benefits of belonging to a club. The clubs holds weekly swimming sessions at The Meres leisure centre on Fridays, starting with a warm-up at 8.30pm. Outdoor bike training sees the club assemble at The Meres at 9am on Sundays. All abilities are catered for.
