Grantham Sunday 1st 269, Castor 1st 63.
Buoyed by the return of those involved in county cricket, Grantham travelled to Castor in good spirits.
Despite only fielding 10 players it became a very one-sided affair.
Runs were shared between Ross Carnelley (47), Jamie Brumby (56) and Dan Freeman (63).
With contributions from young Jaden Fell (20), Rory Johnson (32) and Joe Peck (18*), Grantham managed to score 269 before being dismissed.
Neil Stevenson (5-21) was pick of the Grantham bowlers, finishing with five wickets to his name.
He ably assisted by Joe Peck (2-22), Jaden Fell (1-1) and Jake Unsworth (1-2), dismissing Castor for just 63.
This comprehensive victory sees the Sunday side top the league table.
Grantham & Melton
Grantham Sunday 2nd 55, Wakerley/Barrowden 56-0.
Grantham Sunday Seconds turned up and left early.
After losing the toss, Wakerley and Barrowden put Grantham in to bat on not the best of wickets.
Grantham got off to a bad start, losing three wickets with no runs on the board.
A slight recovery then came from Ben Kennedy-Short for the second week running, and Eathan Milne, coming to Grantham’s rescue with 13 runs each before both falling short.
A few more were put together by the rest of the order, leaving Grantham with just 55 runs on the board for the loss of 10 wickets.
With such a small total on the board Wakerley & Barrowden did not take long before they got the 56 they needed to win the game, with Johnny White and Matt Green scoring 22 and 33 respectively.
