INTERNATIONAL cyclist Katie Colclough has been shortlisted to the Great Britain women’s road race team for this summer’s London Olympics.
Twenty-two-year-old former Grantham College student was one of six riders named by Team GB on Wednesday, of which only four will make the final cut which is to be decided next week.
Katie did her selection chances no harm when she recorded her first UCI-ranked race for her American professional road racing team Specialized-Lululemon last month.
Also vying for one of the four Team GB places are Nicole Cooke, Emma Pooley, Lizzie Armitstead, Sharon Laws and Lucy Martin. Cooke is defending champion, although Armitstead could well be chosen as team leader.
