FRIESTON’S international racing cyclist Katie Colclough returned to the boards of Manchester Velodrome for the latest round of the World Cup track series at the weekend.

Former Grantham College student Katie, 21, competed in the women’s 3,000m team pursuit with her 100% ME team-mates Dani King and Laura Trott on Friday.

They qualified in fifth place, setting a time of 3min 23.355, just missing out on a ride-off for the bronze medal by less than two-tenths of a second.

The gold medal was won by the main Great Britain pursuit team, in which Katie is still vying for a place to take part in the World Track Championships in Holland at the end of next month.
