Two members of Witham Wheelers rode the annual epic Three Peaks cyclo-cross race on Sunday.

The gruelling 38-mile route takes in the climbs over Ingleborough, Whernside and Pen-y-Ghent.

Riding the event for the third time, Sean East completed the course in 5hr 12min for 458th place after injuring a finger when he fell on Ingleborough and puncturing on Pen-y-Ghent. First-timer John Clifton finished in 5.56.

l Karl Baillie rode in the National Youth Madison Track Championships at Manchester Velodrome on Saturday, partnered by Fabian Brennan (WD-40 Velocity Race Team).

After a cheeky move off of the front in the qualifier, they won their heat and progressed through to the final. In the final, after attacking off the front following the first sprint, the pair held on to take a point in the second sprint. But it did not get any better and they finished seventh overall.

l Four Wheelers took part in the Ratae 25-mile time trial at Six Hills on Saturday.

Martin Hedley missed the hour-mark by 26 seconds, with Rick Yates recording 1.01.44, Jon Beere 1.02.03 and Dave Herd 1.08.09.
