Members of Witham Wheelers took part in the latest round of the Lincolnshire Cyclo-cross League at Nettleham, Lincoln, last Sunday.

Conditions were fairly dry but with the grass surface quite spongy, it was never going to be easy.

Robert McAndrew was the sole Wheeler in the under-16 race and finished a respectable seventh overall and fifth under-14.

The under-12 race saw a good turnout of club riders, encouraged by the weekly Go-Ride coaching sessions, with Max Moore riding well for 16th place amongst more experienced competitors. He was followed by brother Leo Moore in 22nd, Callum East 24th, and Jessica East who was 25th and third girl.

A field of more than 80 riders contested the senior race with Sean East the first Wheeler to finish in 41st (17th veteran). Not far behind in 48th (seventh over-50) was Simon Cocker, just holding off Graham McAndrew (19th vet) by one place, with Jenny McAndrew 55th and third lady to finish.
