CYCLING: Katie is selected for Worlds

FRIESTON’S international cyclist Katie Colclough has been selected to represent Great Britain in the World Championship Road Race in Melbourne, Australia, next month.

Twenty-year-old former Grantham College student Katie is a member of the GB Olympic Academy and will be part of a seven-rider GB women’s team challenging for the Worlds title, headed by former world and Olympian champion Nicole Cooke.

British Cycling performance director Dave Brailsford: “The women’s team is looking strong this year and there are a few medal contenders in there.

“I’m really pleased to see Academy riders Lucy Martin and Katie Colclough back on form after their accident in Belgium earlier this year.”
