With their squad now assembled and pre-season training already under way, Grantham Town joint managers Gary Sucharewycz and Ian Robinson said they had found the club sold itself when it came to recruiting players.
Sucharewycz said: “It is a good club. Players know it is well supported and has an unrivalled away following. The set-up at The Meres that they have seen on visits here is a professional one and players note that sort of thing.
“When we speak to them, things like the approach of the club to training, kit, matchday appearance and a host of other things, all convey the professionalism of a club.
“Add to that the strong finish to the season, where we showed getting on for play-off form, we showed we are a club on the up.
“We have had the chance to tell people what we are about and it hasn’t taken too much selling to get people to sign.”
Although Town’s bosses have filled all the player slots for the coming season, pre-season training is not just for those 18 who been signed on.
Sucharewycz said: “You should never stop looking to improve the squad. And that is a big part of pre-season. We have a few exciting triallists coming along who will get their chance in sessions and matches to show us they should be here when the season starts.
“We are also working with the under-18s and involving them. They are the future of the club and some of them will certainly play a part in the friendlies.”
Grantham’s first friendly is away at Hucknall Town on Tuesday, July 9, kick-off 7.45pm.
