Grantham Town Football Club this week announced the formal launch of the Gingerbreads Soccer School following a recent sponsorship agreement with Grantham College.
New branding will be revealed at The Meres tomorrow with all coaches wearing distinctive black polo shirts with the school’s logo. Additional banners will be situated around the Grantham Town stadium
This Saturday will be the first week of a six-week course in which youngsers from age six to 12 can enjoy the atmosphere of training in the stadium in a fun environment, whilst learning new football skills.
New for this season, and as a result of the sponsorship, all participants will be invited to a December presentation evening where they will be presented with a tee-shirt, water bottle and certificate recognising their participation.
Grantham Town chief executive officer Keith Horton said: “We are very pleased to now be able to formally launch the initiative along with our partners Grantham College.
“We would be particularly pleased and positively encourage the participation of girls in the Soccer School.
“Sadly, girls’ attendance has not been as high as we would like and we certainly have ambitions to see girls making up 50 per cent of the participants before the end of the year.”
Sessions are held every Saturday at 10.30am at The Meres stadium in Trent Road, and are run by qualified FA coaches. Cost is £4 per session or £20 for six sessions.
