Northern Premier League
Ramsbottom United 3
Grantham Town 1
Grantham Town led at half time but then took their foot off the gas in the second half and conceded three times.
The Gingerbreads went in front in the 11th minute when striker Stefan Bilyk headed in from a corner kick on the edge of the six-yard box.
Ramsbottom went from not looking likely to score in the first half to quite the opposite after the break.
United levelled eight minutes into the second half when Dominic Smalley got on the end of Scott Burton’s ball and fired past Grantham goalkeeper Dan Haystead.
The home side took the lead four minutes after the hour mark. Jordan Hulme danced his way into the Grantham penalty area and struck his effort in low at the near post.
The Gingerbreads searched for an equaliser but Ramsbottom sealed the visitors’ fate with a third goal on 90 minutes, courtesy of substitute Jon Robinson.
Grantham almost found themselves 4-1 down in injury time after Tom Batchelor tripped Lee Gaskell in the penalty area, but Hulme launched the spot kick skywards off the crossbar.
