Bottesford FC are in confident mood as they make ready for this week’s Leicester Saturday Trophy Final, according to manager Jon Allsopp.
The yellows take on league rivals Ravenstone United on Thursday night – with both teams still chasing a league and cup double.
“We’re looking forward to the occasion,” said Allsopp. “It’s been a great season and just reaching the final is an achievement, but we’ll leave everything out on the pitch to try to win it.”
Incredibly – despite being in the same league – the final will be the first encounter between the sides. It also marks the first of three meetings between them in the space of 10 days.
Bottesford lie in third in the North Leicestershire North League Division One, one place behind Ravenstone, and line up against them AGAIN in league action this Saturday and next weekend. Both sides are still chasing the league title.
Bottesford booked their county cup final berth last month, defeating Leicester Three Lions 3-1.
The final kicks off at 7pm on Thursday night at Holmes Park, the headquarters of the Leicestershire FA.
