Ropsley FC added the league title to their cup triumph with victory over Nobody Inn.

Needing only a point to make certain of the title, Ropsley manager Woody O’Connor made plenty of changes from the previous week’s cup final, but was rewarded with a fine display from his team.

Ropsley took an early lead through winger Ryan Carley. The goal came after fine hold-up play by Loz Fiorentino who carried the ball from left to right before releasing the teenager with a perfectly weighted through-ball. Carley was too quick to be caught and struck a composed finish.

After supplying the first goal, Fiorentino grabbed the second for himself, adding the finishing touches to a fine team move which involved Richard Payne and Leori Petrou.

Nobody Inn then had their best spell of the game and should have equalised but for a double save from Ropsley skipper Neil Graham.

The third goal killed the game and was scored by midfield veteran Richard “Badger” Payne, following a pass from Rich Healey.

Healey grabbed the fourth late in the game after good work from Steve Petrou.

Ropsley’s man of the match was tireless full back Glenn O’Meara.
