Mid Lincs Cup

Second round

Nettleham 1

Barrowby 2

After an opening 15 minutes, Barrowby began to impose their game and started to get on top.

And the visitors’ pressure began to told five minutes before the break when Will Barron nodded a header into the path of Ian Goode who fired home.

Nettleham began the second half with a flurry but Barrowby defended well, particularly man-of-the-match Sam Evans who who covered virtually every blade of grass.

The visitors then took control of the game and after great build-up play, a Josh White shot was spilt by the Nettleham goalkeeper for Olly Hayward to slot home the second goal of the game.

With three minutes remaining, the home side forced a corner which spun off a Barrowby player and into the net.

But it was too little, too late, and Barrowby marched on to the quarter-finals.

Barrowby: Asplen, Wingad, Hollingworth, Hayward, Evans, Goode, Barron, Lawniczak (c), Stasiak, White, Reid, Scott.
