Bottesford 2

Gonerby had a nightmare start with Lima leaving the field with a nasty wrist injury in the first five minutes, followed by Bottesford taking the lead soon after.

French levelled for the home side with a fortuitous rebounded goal, before Coates played in Baker who slotted home to give Gonerby the lead.

Man-of-the-match Coates scored the third with a powerful strike from the edge of the box.

Gonerby extended the lead after the break with Jefferson scoring from a Robson assist.

Bottesford pulled one back before Gonerby’s Meffen hit the bar.

Bottesford piled on the pressure but Gonerby’s defence showed real character to deny the visitors with a fine save by stand-in keeper Baker, and Hardy clearing one off the line.

Gonerby: Baker, Blanchard, Bramley, Coates, French, Gascoyne, Grieh, Hardy, Jefferson, Lima, Mcnulty, Neil, Meffen, Robson, Williamson.
