Gonerby 22

Gonerby returned to winning ways with a dominant display against one of the league’s struggling teams.

The first half produced goals for Gascoyne and Hardy, two each for Meffen, Baker and Bramley, and a first half hat trick for Jefferson.

There was no let-up after the break, with Hardy grabbing a second, Bramley, Baker and Jefferson all scoring another brace, Meffen completing his hat trick, and Coates, Stewardson and Williamson also adding to the score.

Man-of-the-match Meffen was superb in the midfield and Gonerby’s defence and keeper were excellent to keep a clean sheet also.

Ponton had further chances through Macauley Hughes, Gait and Copley, and the game was settled when good wing play from Nathan For d-Pain saw him cross for Copley to steer home for his brace.
