Isaac Newton Primary School held their own intra-school Euro 2016 football competition last week.
House captains selected their squads from Years 3-6 to create a 10-a-side team. The competition was a closely fought affair, with each house representing countries competing in the Euro 2016 semi-finals.
Each house played each other within a league format, then creating a semi-final and final. Saunders and Robertson houses, representing Germany and Wales respectively, were successful in reaching the final and despite numerous attempts on goal from both teams, neither could score a goal.
This took the competition down to a very tense penalty shoot-out, eventually won by Saunders who scored all of their penalties.
Foale house represented Portugal and Tennyson the French.
