Grantham’s branch of the Nottingham Forest Supporters’ Club held its annual event at the Railway Club last Wednesday night.
Around 100 supporters were in attendance when guest of honour was Forest’s influential midfielder Henri Lansbury.
Lansbury added his signature to the branch’s board of honour, alongside those of legends Brian Clough, Peter Taylor, Trevor Francis, Martin O’Neill, Stuart Pearce and many more.
Lansbury gave an interesting account of his career so far, from when he was selected for the Arsenal Academy at the age of eight, up to the present day.
Grantham branch vice-chairman Trevor Hall said: “He spoke of the influences on his career, from Arsene Wenger to David Beckham, the difficult decisions he faced to enable him to get regular first team football, and of his hopes for his future at Forest.
“He then took time to give autographs, have photos taken with the the Forest faithful, and then started the raffle draw.”
Trevor expressed thanks to the Railway Club for the use of its facilities on the night.
