Grantham Town announced the return to the club’s board of Stuart Pigram as non-executive commercial director at the weekend.
Stuart is the group sales director of the Trust Group, who are based in Grantham, but he is perhaps better known as the chairman of the Grantham Business Club and for his involvement in the Grantham Journal Business Awards.
Gingerbreads chief executive officer Keith Horton said the club was pleased to welcome Stuart back to the board.
Keith said: “Stuart fits exactly the profile of business person the club is now engaging with, and I am sure the additional expertise and knowledge of Grantham business community will be of real benefit to the development of the club as we work to achieve our strategic aims of placing the club at the very heart of the business community within Grantham and the central Lincolnshire area.”
Stuart initially joined the Grantham Town board of directors at the end of 2013 but was unable to give his full commitment due to other matters, both business and personal.
Stuart said: “I have been very pleased to see the changes and controls that have been introduced at the football club over the last few months and with the current Boards vision for the future.” Said Mr Pigram. “It is my intention to support the commercial development of the club, not only through my own business in the town but also via a number of business networking opportunities that will start to develop over the next few years.
“I believe that a successful football club will bring real benefits for the economic development of Grantham.”
