Flames took an early lead thanks to Tommy Marshall. Gurney doubled Grantham’s advantage.

The home side pulled a goal back after the break but Flames proved too tough and after two more goals from Fabi and LeHair, there was no hope for Ancaster.

Gonerby 3

Louth Town 0

Gonerby produced a top drawer all round team performance to resoundingly defeat the previously unbeaten league leaders Louth.

Apart from a few rare breakaways, Louth found themselves pinned back for most of the game.

Gonerby went into the half time break a goal up courtesy of a thumping George Corden drive from a Sam Brown corner.

Brown neatly slid home Gonerby’s second when he latched on to a Robert McNulty flick-on, following a huge clearance by keeper Stefan Eardley.

The game was then put beyond Louth’s reach when goal machine McNulty converted a third chance, after a great piece of closing down from Brown.

Gonerby team: Eardley, Gullick (c), Sellars, Burton, Corden, Lewin, Davidson, Taggart, Atkinson, McNulty, Brown, Fitt, Boyle.

Great Ponton 1

Barrowby Hawks 0

A much anticipated local derby played out to be a competitive, fair and evenly fought game.

Barrowby put Ponton under early pressure in the first half and went close through Oliver Reid, but some excellent defending all over the pitch kept Ponton well in the game.

The strong work rate by Ponton continued into the second half as they started to play some progressive football.

With nine minutes remaining, a strong run by Kemal Yenibertiz into the Barrowby penalty box saw him play a one-two with Will Barron before smashing in to earn his gallant team-mates a fine victory.

Ponton’s man of the match was shared between David Olalere, Josh Allen and Ryan Bradley. Barrowby’s was Kyle Evans

Ponton: Cook, Allen, Bradley, Copley, O’Leary, Rawding, Dixon, Yenibertiz, Barron, Olalere, Goode, Chambers.

Barrowby: Asplen, Hollingworth, White, Wingad, K. Evans, Reid, S. Evans, Hayward, R. Evans, Lawniczak, Croke, Cardoso, Hall, Scott.

Saxilby 1

Gonerby Yellows 4

Gonerby continued their winning ways with a win over Saxilby. From the kick-off, the visitors created several chances in the first half, and were rewarded with two goals from Harry Hutton and Matt Ayre.

Gonerby continued their dominance after half time and played very good football. Sam Baker converted from the penalty spot and Luke Bond followed up from a set-piece, which created an own goal.

Saxilby were awarded a penalty late on which was duly saved by Daniel Hibbert, and minutes later they scored a consolation goal.

It was very much a solid team performance and there were many contenders for man of the match.

However midfielders Luke Bond and Liam Geeson shared the award.

Gonerby: Hibbert, A. McIntosh, Smith, C. McIntosh, Crane, Ayre, Bond, Geeson, Ladds, Hutton, Baker. Subs: Pickering, Ellis-Millar, Clatter.
