GRANTHAM Town's new joint managers have wasted no time in bringing new faces to The Meres.

GRANTHAM Town's new joint managers have wasted no time in bringing new faces to The Meres.Gingerbreads bosses Jimmy Albans and Wayne Hallcro this week announced four arrivals - one from Stamford and three from Shepshed Dynamo.

Their first signing was 32-year-old Chris Gray from the Daniels, who has also played for sides including Gresley Rovers, Reddith United and Corby Town.

Hallcro said: "Chris proved himself to be a good Unibond League midfielder at Stamford.

"He was one of the first names we put on our list."

Three players have so far followed the Grantham managerial duo from Shepshed to The Meres.

Ricky Hanson, along with twins Ben and Sam Saunders, signed forms on Monday night.

Six-foot striker Ben was formerly with Doncaster Rovers, Bury, Worksop Town and Hucknall Town.

He scored 19 goals in 46 appearances for Dynamo last season.

Brother Sam scored five times from midfield and defender Hanson netted four times.

Albans and Hallcro have so far been unsuccessful in retaining the services of Paul Lister who has gone on trial to Hinckley United.

Hallcro said: "We offered him a deal and he was tempted.

"He decided to take the loan offer, however we will be keeping an eye on how things go for Paul."

Gingerbreads supporters can meet the team's new managers and squad at a fans' forum at Strikers Bar on Tuesday, July 14, when the new home shirt will also be unveiled. The club will also be announcing two new main sponsors.

Town chairman Darron Quinn said that away shirt sponsors Marren Tiles will continue their affiliation with the club.

He said: "We are grateful again to Mark and Karen Dilloway for their support.

"They follow the club both home and away and it is nice to be able to continue the good relationship we have with them."

* Grantham's first pre-season friendly at The Meres has been put back to July 30 because of essential pitch maintenance.

Town are due to host Southern League Premier champions Corby Town.
