DARTS legend Raymond van Barneveld cruised into Grantham on Friday.
The former multi-world champion was in town to launch Northgate Vehicle Hire’s ‘Rentinator’ darts van at Gonerby Moor.
It was the 44-year-old Dutchman’s first stop-off in England on his way to this week’s Grand Slam of Darts event in Wolverhampton.
Whilst there, Barney ran some exclusive coaching clinics and took on Rentinator staff members.
Barney’s van is set up as a mobile darts unit with dartboard, scoreboard and oche, and met the approval of the former world number one.
He said: “The Rentinator darts van is very cool and they have done a great job kitting it out. I might see if I can take it on the road with me as a practice facility, but I’m not sure they’ll let me.”
Northgate commercial director Gareth Jones was one of the members of staff who pitted their skills against Barney.
Gareth said: “Barney is a fantastic ambassador for Rentinator. Our catchline is ‘Van Problem, No Problem’, and he certainly makes darts look like no problem at all.”
