Future looks bright for teen racer

A TEEN biker is hoping to put a nightmare 2011 behind him with help from a Grantham business.

Curtis Plant, a pupil at Priory Ruskin Academy in Grantham, enjoyed an excellent year in 2010, finishing second in the Inter-Junior Championship and was looking forward to more success in 2011.

However, the 15-year-old saw his bike blow up and then was found to be suffering from a detached retina during a routine eye appointment. The Oakham MCC rider, who has been racing since he was six, had to undergo emergency surgery to correct the problem.

However, this coming season looks much brighter for Curtis thanks to a new sponsorship with UK Hair and Holistics, based at The Old Malthouse in Commercial Road. The company is providing Curtis with new graphics and plastics.
