Sudbrook Moor Tuesday ladies Doreen Fardell and Sheila Cutmore enjoyed prize winning scores in last week’s stableford, with Sheila reducing her handicap by half a shot to 33.2.

This week’s format, a medal round, was won by Sue Hutton’s three under CSS which gained her a cut 1.5 to to 30.7. Diane Leslie was runner-up, six shots back.

Recent wins in the aenior morning roll-ups have come from Frank Brumpton, Geoff Wilkins and David Guy.

Ted Johnson is hanging on to the Eclectic lead, from David Leslie, Tony Rose, David Guy and Tim Newbery. The new ranking in the Order of Merit, The SSSS, a monthly stableford played from championship tees, is very convincingly held by Chris Wilmot, rqo points stronger than Barry Rohland. Frank Brumpton is joint third with Nigel Corby.

John McLaren and David Bishop have won weekly stablefords in the main club roll-ups, and that puts John in a strong position in the six month Eclectic, leading the division for the lower handicaps, from Paul McCarthy, Andrew Green, Barry Rohland and, one shot further back, Simon Green, Michael Coupland and Paul Burrell.

It is higher handicap Chris Wilmot who is overall leader, two shots clear of the entire pack.

In those competitions, Chris Agapito and Onie Ison both lost out on back nine countbacks to take runners-up prizes.

A series of countbacks gave Jonny Oxby, Darren Nicholson, Cameron Sunman, Martin Corby and Paul Burrell prizes in Division One to Three. In Division Four, David Templeton and Kev Waddingham played in their buffer zones.

Christine Bishop and Judith Hutton brought back the top two scorecards in the midweek and Sunday stablefords respectively.

There were many happy shares in the twos pot for birdie achievements returned by Claire Breathwick, Fiona Hutton, Alister Morgan, Adam Lee, Nigel Corby, Paul Burrell, Martin Corby(2), Philip Edwards and Barry Rohland.

Seniors

Stoke Rochford annual seniors’ and ladies’ mixed competition was played on Wednesday in spring-like conditions.

Winners with 94 points were David Hamilton, Ray Beal, Jackie Witten and Sheila Dugmore.

The following three pairs each scored 89 points so positions were decided by countback, giving second place to Mike Graves, Don Werner, Elaine Kirby and Sally Moyce. Third were Brian White, Malcolm Edwards, Pam Watson and Norma Varley, whilst Adrian Stannard, Phil White, Judy Rawson and Roni Proctor were fourth.
