A podium finish at the Nurburgring circuit moved Bassingham racing driver Jack Harvey up to fourth place in the GP3 series.
Following his outstanding first series victory the previous weekend at Silverstone, Harvey consolidated his impressive form with a third place in Germany on Saturday.
Last year’s British F3 champion, who began his 10-year racing career in karts at tracks such as Fulbeck and Brandon, was up to third straight off the line and was never more than one second behind second-placed driver, Ellinas.
However, he was unable to find a way past and had to be content with 15 championship points at the end of the 15-lap race.
In Sunday’s race Harvey lined up in sixth position and again was up to third by the first few corners.
Unfortunately, he was then tapped from the rear and dropped down to tenth, where he spent the rest of the race.
Harvey said: “We had a mixed weekend of results. It was great to keep the momentum going from Silverstone with Saturday’s podium result but Sunday was a little disappointing.”
