MEMBERS of Grantham Shotokan Karate Club were in action again last weekend, competing in the Northern Open Classic tournament in Warrington.
This high profile competition attracted more than 200 entries from all over England, Scotland and Wales.
Beth Frankcom did extremely well against very tough competition to secure a place in the quarter-finals of the 10-12 years kata category.
Assistant club instructor Neil Bukavs put in a brilliant performance against a number of top class competitors to take bronze in the adult male kata section, whilst Molly Hawthorne also won bronze in the 13-15 years kumite sparring event.
Club chief instructor Geoff Dixon gained his British Karate Association (BKA) referee badge following a written exam and practical assessment by a panel of British and European referees.
