TWO of Bottesford Karate Club’s instructors have enjoyed black belt grading successes.

Claire Lowes and Ian Simpson attended a grading held at Manchester by the British Karate Association. Claire and Ian were examined by a panel consisting of Senseis Geoff Dixon and Graeme Walden and headed up by Sensei Brian Seabright, 7th Dan and BKA chairman.

Following a physically tough examination, Claire was awarded Sandan (3rd Dan) and Ian was awarded Nidan (2nd Dan).

Bottesford Karate Club has just opened a new club in Whatton and another in Marston and chief instructor Graeme Walden said: “To have our black belts progressing in this way as the club expands is very positive.

“They have both worked very hard in preparation for this grading. This is not only a great result for Claire and Ian but also for our club.”
