MARTIAL ARTS: Leigh becomes national referee

SECOND degree black belt Leigh Bridge has added another qualification to his already lengthy list of achievements.

Twenty-four-year-old Leigh (pictured), who trains at King’s School Tae Kwon-Do Club, has achieved national referee status in the Korean military martial art.

He has gained experience over the past few years and has helped out at local and national Tae Kwon-Do Association of Great Britain tournaments. He undertook his final course at Willenhall Sports Academy under the watchful eyes of eighth degree masters Paul Donnelly and Ron Sergiew.

Alreay a competition umpire, Leigh will now be invited to assist at the British Championships at Telford in November.

Leigh said: “I know the standard is very high in our Association, and it’s a great honour to know I have gained this qualification.”
