Three Vale Judo juniors who train at the club’s Meres leisure centre base competed in the Welland Invitational Championships.
James Tasker, Cameron Gibson and Janis Zube entered the event which was held at Vale Judo’s new dojo in Oakham.
All three martial artists fought hard to win gold and silver medals at the event. The techniques and effort demonstrated by the youngsters should bode well for their judo careers.
The event was run with the help of many Vale Judo volunteers and officials, including newly qualified junior referees.
Vale Judo is the biggest judo club in the East Midlands with classes running in Grantham, Bingham, Oakham, Stamford and Melton, and boasts more than 220 members. It has recently been awarded the Sport England clubmark award.
