The point-to-point season at Garthorpe begins with the Cottesmore meeting on Sunday.

A large entry of 157 has been taken for the seven races, with a possibility of race divisions on the day due to horse numbers and safety.

The Cottesmore hounds will parade prior to the first race at approximately 11.15am. Punters will have the choice of the bookmakers or the Tote for betting purposes. The first race is at noon.

The Grumpy Huntsman licenced bar will once again be open, and there will be a large selection of trade stands showcasing British made goods, refreshment stalls and children’s fun rides and amusements.

Garthorpe is situated on the B676, six miles east of Melton Mowbray and seven miles west of the A1 at Colsterworth. Admission is £10 per person including car parking and children under 16 are free. Race cards are £3 each.
