SWIMMING: Ingoldsby pupils qualify for nationals

A TEAM of five pupils from Ingoldsby Primary School have qualified for a national competition.

The team of Year 5 and 6 swimmers won the English Schools Swimming Association’s Small Schools’ Section of the East Midlands Divisional Gala at The Meres leisure centre on Friday.

The team won both the mixed relay and the freestyle relay categories.

Their success qualified them to to enter the ESSA Small Schools’ Section of the National Swimming Championships for Primary Schools competition which will be held at Ponds Forge in Sheffield early on in the summer.

The school’s swimming co-ordinator Emily Collins said: “We are so proud of the team and their tremendous achievement in getting to the National Finals.”
