More than 35 children from 11 local primary schools participated in the Herbert Pacey Memorial Table Tennis Tournament at The Meres leisure centre on Saturday.
The event, now in its 10th year, was run by Cliffedale Chandlers Table Tennis Club and the Grantham and District League and still manages to attract a large number of young players from across the town.
The standard of competition was very high during the total of 130 matches played.
A number of young volunteers assisted throughout the day and whose help was invaluable – Ashley Willows, Samuel Bailey, Alex Robinson, Benjamin Rigby, Connor Auckland, Frazer Winfield, Trafford Mason and Flynn Connolly.
All shields and trophies were presented by Ruth Pacey and certificates of participation were given to each player.
Two additional shields were awarded, the Ruth Pacey Shield for the Most Improved Male and the Most Improved Female Player of the tournament, which went this year to Harry Clements (St Mary’s) and Mishal Bhat (Belmont) respectively.
