Halloween Friday saw Cliffedale Chandlers hold its first Glow in the Dark table tennis event and it was well received by everybody that attended.

New committee member Tim Bridle organised the event and it proved a bit hit with current and potential new members of the club.

Tim said: “It was just about doing something different but fun.”

Attendees were asked to wear white or dayglow coloured T-shirts and to decorate them as they wished, and as the lights went out in the table tennis centre at The Meres leisure centre the full effect of Tim’s event came to life with just splashes of moving colour on a black background as both children and adults played on eight tables in near pitch darkness.

The club is already planning the next event when a few tweaks will be made to make it more spectacular.

l Cliffedale Chandlers hold structured training sessions at The Meres on Tuesdays (7-9pm) and Saturdays (12-2pm/2-4pm), whilst the club’s Friday session (7-9pm) is a fun one where anybody of any age and ability can come along just for a bit of fun.
