Grantham martial artist Daniel Pearce has recently returned home from competing at the European Tae Kwon-Do Championships in Davos, Switzerland.

He was participating in one of the toughest categories in the competition, the senior grade men’s patterns division, and was one of the highest ranking British exponents taking part in the event.

Daniel made a big improvement on last year’s showing at the World Championships where Daniel reached the top 20. This time around he surpassed a lot of previous opponents to break into the European top 10.

Daniel was pleased with his performance, but said he was determined to continue improving and aims to do even better in future events.

He trained with the national squad in Loughborough in preparation for the competition, and joined in the celebrations with his team-mates as England beat Russia in the final to claim the European team title.

l The next big event for Grantham Tae Kwon-Do Club will be as hosts of the annual Lincolnshire Championships at The Meres Leisure Centre on May 10.
