Grantham Tennis Club’s mixed first team enjoyed a dominant 96-21 win at home over Collingham in the Lincoln District League Division One.

The winning team comprised Jon Quinn and Melanie Bloodworth, Jonathan Cummins and Sophie Fletcher, and Ivo Marsik and Liz Stokes

Their next match will be against David Lloyd Burton Waters 2nd in a few weeks.

Grantham’s fifth mixed team played at Caunton at the weekend and won 13 sets to five.

The pairings were Martin Garratt and Katy Dines, Dale Wright and Sheena Gordine, and David Todd and Lorraine Walton

With all their fixtures completed, the team is now just waiting on another result to see whether will be promoted or not.

GTC’s third ladies’ doubles team played Mapperley Park on Sunday. It was a well fought match in which Grantham ended up with a victory, winning 12-6 sets/90-56 games.

The team consisted of Wendy Bland, Katy Dines, Roz Elphick, Laura Dixon, Cerys Jones and Claire Marris.

Josh Harris, Hugo Dunn, Beth Aust and Imogen Clough played two Mini Red matches with great success at the weekend.

They followed up a 14-4 win over Market Deeping the next day with a great 18-0 victory against Tennis Buddies.

Looking strong all season and with only a couple of matches left, GTC’s Mini Reds will be looking to win the league with such a useful side.
