Eight girls from Grantham Water Polo Club have been selected to play in an International Water Polo tournament.

Amelia Peters and Alex Barnett will be playing in the mixed under-13 squad in the Andorra BWMF Cup in Spain at the end of the month.

The six other girls will be members of the girls’ under-15 squad and will play in Andorra at the beginning of September.

This competition, now in its second year, has been organised by Be Water My Friend (BWMF) and includes teams from England, Scotland, Italy and Spain.

Grantham club coach Conor Coyle will be in charge of the under-15 girls during the competition.

l Youngsters interested in trying the sport can attend any of three trial sessions being held by Grantham Water Polo Club at The Meres leisure centre pool on Friday, September 5, 12 and 19, between 4.30pm and 6.30pm. Boys and girls interested should be going into school Year 7.
