Under-15 players from King’s School took part in the London Schools Water Polo Tournament at Eton Thursday.
The competition is for 12 teams in three tournaments, the top eight reaching the knockout phase, and culminating in a final tournament in late March.
The Grantham school’s opening game was against the City of London school. King’s were slow to start and unfamiliar with the smaller pool and shallow end. The game resulted in a 4-0 defeat.
Playing Eton School in the next match, King’s, the team were focused but the result was disappointing, as they lost 3-2, and they also had two goals disallowed.
Moving into the last game’ King’s took on St Paul’s School, London, and won 3-0. The result was never in doubt and the Grantham side controlled the game, allowing all players to rotate to gain experience for future tournaments and competitions
Still in the competition, King’s move on to the next round of the competition at the end of this month.
