Lincolnshire Bombers Roller Girls will be hosting the first game of the British Roller Derby Championships at The Meres on Sunday, February 8.
Ranked in Tier Three of the Regional East Division, the Bombers will be taking on Croydon Roller Derby. It will be the first time that the two teams have played each other, with the Bombers’ travel team – The Bombshell Bruisers – showcasing a roster with new players.
The tournament, which originated from the The End of The World and Heartland Series tournaments, will be the first of its kind in UK Roller Derby history and will see the initiation of a formal ranking system structured across four tiers.
More than 70 women’s Roller Derby leagues will be taking part, with the championships predicted to be the UK’s and Europe’s largest Women’s Flat Track Roller Derby tournament to date. Also playing on the day will be Kent Roller Girls versus Cambridge Rollerbillies.
Doors open at 1pm, first whistle 1.30pm. Tickets are available from www.lincolnshire-bombers.com
