New skipper Andy Peabody pulled together a typical social rugby team with a mix of youth and experience.
What was very encouraging to report was the appearance of mini rugby coaches Paul Anderson and Matthew Allen in the side, showing how well the two sides of the club are coming together.
The morning rain gave way to fine autumn sunshine as Lincoln kicked off.
The heavier Lincoln pack were soon on top but found it hard to make the breakthrough. Kesteven were hoping that what possession they got could be worked out to their young backs who might be able to run free.
And that was what happened after 20 minutes. Lincoln lost possession on half way. Ks snapped up possession and Will Cann raced clear to outpace the defence and score at the posts. Tom Price added the goal points.
This settled the home team and they gradually got more of the ball. Tom Price added a second try just before the break . His conversion made the half time score 14-0.
Kesteven made a number of changes at the break to rest some of the ageing bodies, and to ensure that the whole squad got game time.
It did not take long for Kesteven to add to their tally. This time the forwards did the work and number eight Des went over from close range. The conversion attempt failed.
The younger Kesteven side were now starting to make inroads and it was no surprise when Price scored the bonus point try. His conversion from far out sailed through the uprights.
It was all Kesteven now and Price was the main beneficiary. He added two more tries, one of which was converted while Will Bacon also got on the scoresheet.
