l Frieston international road racer Katie Colclough represented Great Britain in the World Road Race Championships in Holland on Saturday.
The 22-year-old former Grantham College student’s day was marred by a huge pile-up, following a crash in the bunch on the second ascent of the Cauberg in the eight-lap, 129km race, resulting in some facial cuts.
Although delayed, Katie and GB team-mate Emma Pooley rejoined the main field, but Katie did not complete the race which was won by favourite Marianne Vos of the home nation.
