Witness reports of a UFO sighting over Grantham in 1978 have been published on a Canadian website.
HBCC UFO Research, based in Houston, British Colombia, has published details of the incident sent by an anonymous witness.
According to the report, a glowing object was seen moving across the sky at very high speed at 10pm.
The witness wrote: "Judging from the time it took to go from one end of the sky to the other, it was going at supersonic speeds.
"The object itself was circular, red and looked like it was on fire. It was also trailing beautiful golden sparks and looked like the best firework I had seen."
